The Eye... On the Olympics 2004
Posted by Simon at 10:15 PM

The Eye takes a look at the Olympics 2004, opening ceremony...

Opening Ceremony of the Athens 2004 Olympic Games

It has to be said that the opening ceremony was fairly impressive, and certainly makes you wonder if Great Britain could even manage to put on an event half as impressive as what the Greeks have just shown the world.

Day 71 of 71 - Nadia exits to cheers and fireworks
Posted by Simon at 10:46 PM

Nadia has exited the house, to a massive roar of cheering from the crowd, and a huge fireworks display.

Day 71 of 71, Nadia wins Big Brother 2004!

Still clearly well in shock, and jumping about like a loon, Nadia has made her way up on to the stage for her interview with Davina, whilst the crowd have chanted "Nadia! Nadia! Nadia! Nadia!" along with "Go Nads! Go Nads!"

Nadia, just about able to speak, said how she was "so happy, and thank you so much". Davina has also told her that she won with a HUGE 74% of the vote!

Day 71 of 71 - Jason finishes 2nd, and NADIA WINS!
Posted by Simon at 10:25 PM

Jungle cat Jason is the third housemate to be evicted from the Big Brother house on the final night, meaning that Nadia has won Big Brother 2004!

The pair sat on the sofa hugging each other as Davina made the announcement - something which earlier in the series would never have been dreamt of.

Nadia instantly burst in to tears, and Jay comforted her whilst she turned in to a jibbering wreck with nothing to actually say other than wave her hands about and go in to utter shock.

Jason had 10 seconds to say his good-bye's - to Nadia, and the house, as there was no one else there to say good-bye to - before walking down the exit corridoor and receiving a wall of boo's from the crowd outside the door. He didn't seem particularly upset about it though, instead smiling and sticking his tounge out.

The Eye will have more from the eviction, soon...

Day 71 of 71 - Dan finishes in 3rd place
Posted by Simon at 09:24 PM

Daniel is the second housemate out on the final night, finishing in 3rd place, and leaving Jason and Nadia to battle it out for the last two places.

It was widely expected that Jason would probably be out before Dan, but he appears to have made a sudden last minute rush in the popularity polls during this last week, and now there must be real doubt about if even Nadia could be pipped to the post.

A whole 30 minute wait was required before Dan could make his exit, due to Channel 4 going for an extended break to show "Will and Grace", but at just after 10pm he made his exit to massive cheers from the crowd outside the house.

The Eye will have more soon...

Day 71 of 71 - Shell finishes in 4th place
Posted by Simon at 09:05 PM

Shell is the first housemate to have been evicted from the house on the final night of the 2004 series.

Huge chants of "Nadia Nadia Nadia Nadia Nadia!" could be heard by the housemates as Davina announced who was going to be evicted first, and Shell only had seconds to say her good-bye's and walk down the short corridoor to the outside world where she faced a mix of manic screams and a few boo's

From the reaction of the crowds, it'd seem that Jason will be next out, with Dan in second and Nadia walking away as the winner - only time will tell.

The Eye will have more from the final eviction night, later...

Day 71 of 71 - BB (heli)pad
Posted by Simon at 05:29 PM

The Big Brother house almost became a heli pad this afternoon, when a helicopter flew right over the house, taking photos...

Big Brother helicopter hovers over the house during the final day

Unusually though, housemates wern't called inside for their own safety and to keep the prying eyes of the press away, and instead were allowed to stand out in the garden waving away.

And it didn't take long for them to realise that it was a Big Brother helicopter, with the logo of the show on the side to identify it as "safe" to the housemates.

It'd seem they were filming for footage either for Big Brother Little Brother at 6pm, or maybe the final show this evening which starts at 8:30pm, or possibly even the Big Brother Uncut DVD which should be released within a matter of weeks.

Relaxed atmosphere from Big Brother
It's been very relaxed in the house today, with Big Brother being more friendly with them, and it'd seem that the Big Brother Little Brother viewer that won the prize of being Big Brother has been making many of the announcements today, including:

"this is big brother.... big brother would just like to say Hello!"

and a few minutes later "this is big brother. big brother looks forward to seeing all of the housemates later!"

Housemates spot workers on the roof, and they wave back!
Workers preparing for tonights final show were spotted on the roof of the house earlier when housemates walked out in to the garden, and instead of scurrying for cover, they actually waved back, as Nadia and Shell jumped about, and Dan joked about how they'll be fired and there's no more contract work for them!

It'd appear that they are putting something on the roof, which includes some form of sheeting, what looks like rope, and possibly a fireworks display for the closing moments of the final eviction show.

There's a lot going on during the last day of Big Brother 2004, and we've still got the evictions to go yet!

Day 70 of 71 - Housemates enjoy awards ceremony
Posted by Simon at 11:53 PM

The four remaining housemates have enjoyed a fairly emotional awards ceremony this evening, as they enter their very last full night in the house.

A pre-ceremony three-course-meal was provided by Big Brother, before the awards were presented by the housemates, including a couple which Big Brother had put in as a suprise, which included "housemate most likely to win Big Brother... Big Brother will get back to you" and "housemate most likely to drink expensive champagne.... all of you, the store room is now open!"

Slow music has also been played, which has made the whole event seem even more emotional, and has seen the housemates reflect on the high and low points of the experience...

...and the fact there's only the four of them left has made it all that much closer and like the end really is near, almost like the feeling that the housemates from previous series' have claimed they've felt when they've been down to the last two awaiting the announcement of who has won.

It's quite amazing that by this time tomorrow, it'll all be over for another year, and what we've been watching for the past 71 days will no longer be on our screens. What will Big Brother fans do!?

Day 69 of 71 - Stuart evicted during BB Party
Posted by Simon at 10:47 PM

With the housemates expecting absoloutely nothing as they enjoyed their Big Brother Party, Stuart has been evicted - via the diary room.

day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party

Housemates were enjoying a party which Big Brother had thrown for them, and were dancing away to the second song, which aptly had the words "go out that door... you're not welcome here any more"

day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party

And then the sound cut.... and there was a stunned look on their face...

It turns out they'd heard the crowd cheer outside - and Stu had previously been called to the diary room, and hasn't returned...

So they reckon Stu MUST have won.

Nadia's saying it wasn't an eviction, as they'd not heard any crowd.

Yet Dan and Shell are saying that they did hear a crowd...

...and Shell's being all childish and "I want I want I want" like she oh-so-often is. She's saying "but I want to see his winn-ing inter-view!"

day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party
day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party

Stu's not won, he just received the least votes out of the final 5
So he's been evicted, having received less votes than Shell and Jay (let's face it, Dan and Nadia were never really contenders for tonight's eviction), and no doubt he'll be mauled by Michelle as soon as she can get her mitts on him.

The housemates still don't know for sure what's going on though, and are coming up with ideas and conspiracies like they're going out of fashion - especially Shell, who always seems to get the wrong end of the stick about everything!

day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party

Shell's also just said how if it had of been her being evicted like that "my heart probably wouldn't have taken it... I'd probably have pissed myself... *nodding head, as if to make everyone else agree*"

She's also saying how it would be the best way to be evicted - called in to the diary room. That girl talks such rot, contradicting her every word...

day 69 of 71 - stuart evicted during final week celebration party

E4 live before Channel 4 live, with 35 minute delay?
Strangely it all happened on E4 about 20 minutes before it was shown "live" on Channel 4, and seeing as E4's usually in delay by about 15 minutes it means the eviction probably took place about 35 minutes before it was on Channel 4 - about 10pm!

The Eye will have more from the eviction, later...

Day 68 of 71 - Shell's fakeness shines through as nominations revealed
Posted by Simon at 05:41 PM

Big Brother called all of the housemates to the sofa this afternoon, and revealed to them a set of nominations which the remaining five housemates had made earlier on during their time in the house.

day 68 of 71 - nominations revealed on plasma screen, and shell breaks down in tears

Generally it seemed to be received fairly well, with easily-impressed Stu lapping it up, and Jason cracking open a huge smile at his nomination being revealed.

However Shell looked absoloutely gutted about the fact that her cutting nomination about Nadia was revealed, and she instantly shouted out how it was "6 weeks ago!"

It'd appear that Shell's "ultra nice never hurt a fly" persona has been absoloutely smashed by the nominations being shown, and she's clearly thinking that the other housemates must be thinking she's fake - especially Nadia.

day 68 of 71 - nominations revealed on plasma screen, and shell breaks down in tears

And within minutes of going to sit outside on the decking Shell had tossed a cushion on to the floor and had burst out crying, going for one of her (somewhat fake) emotional rollercoasters, just as she's done several times before in the house, and no doubt trying to get sympathy in the pathetic way that she appears to love.

Shell said how she felt so guilty about nominations, and how it's so hard, and how she feels "terrible" about nominations, and and and and... just a bit of a waffling babble with her talking 10 to the dozen trying to justify her emotions... OH SHUT UP SHELL, YOU'RE FAKE AND IT'S BEEN REVEALED AT LONG LAST!

It's hard to tell if Stuart is sitting there smiling and looking a bit shocked due to the fact he's just seen something "amazing duuude!" on the screen, or if he's realising that Shell has actually been really two-faced, and meanwhile Nadia, who said that she wasn't upset at all by Shell's nomination, has gone inside the bedroom and is packing her small bag of makeup and accessories, and sniffing as if she's quite emotional.

day 68 of 71 - nominations revealed on plasma screen, and shell breaks down in tears

And to top it all off a huge thunderstorm has just started right over the Big Brother house, quite excellently capturing the stormy mood which has suddenly decended on the housemates.

Day 67 of 71 - Housemates called to make suprise nominations
Posted by Simon at 08:22 PM

The remaining five housemates probably wern't expecting nominations now, seeing as there's less than a week to go, but at around 7pm tonight Big Brother announced that housemates had an hour to prepare before they would be giving nominations.

It instantly caused quite a stir, with a few of them exclaiming "I knew it!" as if they'd predicted Big Brother would spring a suprise on them.

And Shell seemed to take a rebellious Kitten stance, saying that she didn't want to nominate (tough shit! it's a game, they're asking you to nominate, nominate!)

And they're asked to nominate on the sofa!
Big Brother asked Dan to nominate first, on the sofa, and not in the diary room. After a bit of pondering, Dan said that he wasn't going to nominate as he didn't know what it was for.

Big Brother repeated the instruction for Dan to give his name and reason. So Dan said himself. Big Brother announced that the rules were that housemates can not nominate themselves or an object (eg: can't nominate the statue). Dan then re-affirmed his view that he'd not nominate, and would therefore put himself up for nomination by not doing so.

And he was promptly called to the diary room.

It'd seem they're not actually nominating for eviction, but just for something else (maybe something that will happen mid-week) and so them taking the line of "I won't nominate" is putting a spanner in Big Brother's spokes...

Dan given a warning?
It'd appear that Dan was given a warning - his second one so far during his time in the house, and was allowed to return to the sofa.

Whilst he was in the diary room, Stu and the rest of the housemates worked out a plan which would see them each nominating the next housemate in the alphabet up from them... surely also a breach of the rules as talking about nominations isn't allowed.

Big Brother than asked Jason to give his nomination, but Jason just kept talking to the housemates about random stuff, as if to ignore Big Brother's voice and request. Big Brother soon called Jason to the diary room, but Jason also ignored that for a short time, before going to the diary room.

He didn't seem to receive a warning though, but was told to return to the sofa.

Strangely Dan was next to be asked to nominate again, and he didn't do. So Big Brother moved on to Nadia, who nominated the statue. Moments later, Big Brother announced that Nadia had decided not to nominate, which caused more confusion for the housemates, as they were expecting Big Brother to quote the rule of not being able to nominate an inanimate object.

Shell was asked to nominate next, and gave a very gabbled weak guilty souding reason why she wasn't nominating. Big Brother eventually announced to the group that Shell had decided not to nominate.

So to Stuart, who was also asked to nominate, and gave almost as poor answer for his reason why he wasn't, and was, unsuprisingly, given the same "failed to nominate" reply from Big Brother.

It's not clear how the housemates will suffer from failing to nominate, or for that matter what they were nominating for. It's also highly likely to have wasted Big Brother's time as they were obviously wanting the nomintion for something, even if it was just "someone to come to the diary room to get a hamper of booze" and the housemates may well have just bit the hand which feeds them... But we may never know...

Day 66 of 71 - Housemates given booze to celebrate
Posted by Simon at 08:40 PM

The five remaining housemates have been given bottles of beer and wine this evening, as they enter in to the last week of the show.

Jay got the alcohol from the diary room, and whilst everyone else was sitting out in the garden he hid it, just leaving an empty hamper in the kitchen.

He then calmly walked out in to the garden and sat on one of the wooden chairs, holding a bottle of beer and smiling - instantly causing Nadia and Shell to run inside trying to find the stash of booze.

It took them quite some time as they rummaged through the kitchen cabinets, and up-turned the egg shaped seating, and cushions on the sofa. Eventually Shell found the supply, and instantly grabbed the red wine.
