Day 9: Counting task replaces Saturday task
Posted by Simon at June 4, 2005 12:50 AM

Housemates have welcomed in their ninth day in the house by enjoying beer and wine which was supplied to them after Mary was evicted last night.

The early hours of the morning provided for some relaxing time for the housemates to chat with each other, although Makosi decided to go to bed early - possibly with guilty thoughts about the fact she'd been responsible for who was evicted.

Boys will be boys... and Max will be a lad
Crazy lad Maxwell decided to lick Lesley's bum last night whilst she slept in her bed. The action woke her, and she asked what was going on, and Maxwell came out with the comment that he was "kissing arse"... of which Lesley accepted and simply went back to sleep.

Kemal argues with Roberto. Everyone argues with Roberto.
Kemal got in to a bit of an argument with Roberto at just after 4:30pm, challenging him over the fact that he's taking control of the kitchen by doing all of the cooking, when Kemal also wants to cook.

He also accused Roberto of giving larger portions to certain housemates during "communual cooking" and how he wasn't being fair sharing out ingredients. Kemal argued that age shouldn't be a reason for doing more cooking, although Roberto didn't seem to believe that was a consideration at all.

Things then turned a bit scary-Mary, when Kemal criticised Roberto of sprading his control around the house by putting his shoes in the dining area, and his clothes, and clothes all over the bed, and the fact that Roberto took the other bed and then also took the draws under the bed... strange though because at the time it was Kemal that was making all the fuss about the bed last night after Mary had gone, but now he seems to be backing out of that ever being the case... Is he taking lessons from Makosi?

Next thing Roberto has stormed out of the lounge where Kemal had collared him, and was in the bedroom moving piles of clothes, whilst being called childish by Kemal. But the whole group got involved when Kemal accused Roberto of moving his clothes without permission.

Happy families. Not.

1, 2, miss a few, 99, 100
Big Brother set housemates a strange task earlier, which doesn't sound too difficult to fail, but there must have been a twist somewhere. They had to count. The person that counted the highest was to get a reward - what could be more simple?

Apparently housemates donned various pieces of clothing including safety hats and goggles whilst having to count, although with it all going on in the diary room there wasn't anything to be seen by viewers of the live feed, meaning it'll be saved for the highlights show instead. Sam though found it considerably difficult, with the Channel 4 website claiming she "limped through the 30s and into the 40s".

And it's not even obvious if it was considered to be their Saturday Challenge, as one doesn't appear to have happened this week - possibly the first time (other than the first week of each series) where such a challenge hasn't been planned.

Last year the first Saturday Challenge saw housemates take to a roundabout which was spun round and round after they'd enjoyed a sickly sweet kids party.

Is this Question Time or something?
Derek, Roberto and Science spent over an hour discussing various topics which you'd probably expect to see talked about on Question Time rather than Big Brother. Other than Science's constant dropping of h's from words and coming out with some freestyle ghetto phrases, you'd have almost been able to wonder if you'd tune in to the wrong channel.

Princess Diana, Politics, Education, Behaviour of Children (of which Science said "back in the day when i was a kid"... which surely can't have been that long ago?) and more subjects than David Dimbleby would feel happy with.

Seems reasoned argument is possible in the house without voices getting raised, although all the other housemates were elsewhere in the house giving the trio a very wide berth.
