Day 5: Housemates should be so lucky, lucky lucky lucky
Posted by Simon at May 31, 2005 10:06 AM

Housemates were woken this morning by having Kylie Minogues 'I should be so Lucky' played through the speakers - no doubt as part of the 'unlucky' theme which this years house revolves around.

Despite it only being a Kylie song, It's times like this that add the "fun" atmosphere to Big Brother, and although last night's drivel made The Eye think this series had become some of the worst TV ever, it's a clear reminder that besides the backstabbing and bitching which has gripped the experience so far, it has actually (hopefully) got that potential to be a funny memorable experience which could beat BB5.

Maybe the show producers can pump some energy back in to the household like Kylie's singing appears to have done for some of the housemates... Roberto particularly seemed to enjoy it by dancing in the garden [video]

Of course they didn't all want to get out of bed at the sound of the Aussie singers voice, and by just gone 10am the track had been played for it's third time, with no obvious let-up in sight (infact at 10:20am it was still playing).

It'll be interesting to see if housemates pick up on the "lucky" aspect and the fact that Makosi has so far appeared "unlucky" as part of her (somewhat tedious) personal task...

First round of nominations
Housemates have made their first nominations today, in what was appearing to be a tense and very nervous time for the 13. Makosi particularly had a lot to consider seeing as she's hoping to receive the most nominations to avoid being automatically up for eviction due to her personal challenge.

However there's quite a few housemates that could also be nominated for various reasons, so it'll be interesting to see how things pan out - nominations are expected to be announced tomorrow (Wednesday) night.

Tonight's highlight show has revealed that it was Kemal's suggestion that Makosi should say she "had to do something else to win the task", and would get cherry tango instead of wine for washing the aprons... something which the housmates might have wanted to know about ahead today's nominations, although hopefully Kemal is up for eviction as he's seriously annoying The Eye... along with far too many others.

Roberto argues... with Mary
An unlikely combination of housemates wishing to argue, but Mary and Roberto got in to a right old argument this evening as she had a go at him about the state of the toilets, and how they need to be kept clean.

As with everything so far in the house it's not totally clear what sparked things off, although earlier today someone had left behind some "brown bits" in one of the toilets and wern't owning up to it - Makosi instantly accused Roberto, and it seems that maybe things have gone on from there with Mary deciding Roberto was to get the flack no matter what, with the fact that he was grumbling too much being enough to get Mary to blow her top.

See a very Scary-Mary photo and find out more about the outbreak on the Channel 4 website.

And again housemates are bitching!
Housemates have just eaten, at about 11pm, and there was plenty of bitchy snipes being made. Kemal keeps winding things up and it's almost as if he's playing the game in collusion with Makosi. (are they all moles?!)

Next thing the E4 live feed shows is Saskia getting moody with Roberto and asking Mary to step in to the lounge area so she can speak with her in private, and then Mary says that Kemal can come in which Saskia shouts at Mary to stop doing that, but Kemal still joins.

Tension in the house remains as high as it's ever been, but it seems to be moving around different groups of people each time. Most bizarre! It'd better not be another night of petty bitching, as The Eye really will get bored this time. It's simply not entertaining.

...Apparently the story which would be fitting for a poor-quality soap opera, goes that Mary said something to Lesley, which Lesley misunderstood and went off to Saskia with the wrong end of the stick and bitched about Mary to Saskia, and then Saskia challenged Mary, Mary said that Kemal could join the living room because why not - he's a fellow housemate, Saskia was wound up by what Lesley had said about what Mary had (or hadn't) said. Now Saskia's bitching to Sam and Max and Anthony in the kitchen, whilst Mary, Kemal and Makosi are rowing and bitching about the other housemates in the lounge. Makosi's continuing her routine of making the housemates "her puppets" and spinning the tale yet further, and Kemal's overly-camped-up annoying ways are just adding more fuel to the fire - it's like a load of little kids. GROW UP! SHUT UP. STOP IT!

As Alex said in BB3 as Adelle and Jade rowed in the bedroom "DO SOMETHING FOR ME!!!"

With just a few minutes left of Day 5 in the house, it looks like the bitching is going to continue long in to the night... what will Day 6 bring?
