BB UK: Big Con!? (and the twins are IN on BB OZ)
Posted by Simon at May 15, 2005 02:24 PM

Big Brother this year could have a Big Con aspect to it, with a set of housemates entering the house and simply not being the real housemates, resulting in all bar one of them being voted out by the public after just a few hours.

The Sunday Mirror newspaper has reported that 11 "dummies" will enter the house, but that it'll be a separate part of the house, away from the real housemates. A few hours later the public will have voted 10 of them out, keeping just one who will go in to the main Big Brother house to join the real housemates.

However that's not the end of the house-splitting, as the rumour of a Sun house and an Owl house appear to be gaining ground, with six members in each house - those in the Sun house can only go outside during the day and have to be awake all day, whilst those in the Owl house will have to be awake all night and are only let out in to the shared garden during the night time hours.

It seems a sure-fire way to ensure that there's always some action from the house, although it'll be interesting to see what divisions it causes so early on in the series. After a couple of weeks the two parts of the house are said to merge, at which point it'll be a more "normal" Big Brother experience...

...which is said to run for an stunningly long 100 days! The longest it's ever been in the UK, taking the show right through until September.

Prize fund changes
It also looks like a change in how the prize fund is calculated might be on the cards - each housemate will be given £5000, and when they're evicted they have to give half of their overall winnings to another housemate.

The longer housemates are in the house the bigger their individual prize fund will be as they'll have racked up more cash by being given money by evictees, meaning there should be some real rivalry - if the housemates decide they're bothered about the money of course, which previous years has shown that they're usually not too fussed, and are more interested in the potential fame.

A stab in the dark has also been made by the paper about the potential housemates, although these early predictions never usually come true and only last year did one of the papers get it near enough spot on just a few days before the series started.

The twins are outed... or should that be inned?
Logan was rumbled by one of the housemates in the Aussie Big Brother earlier, when he realised that things wern't quite right. After telling a few other housemates, they tackled the question head on, and Logan tried to convince them otherwise, but simply didn't manage to pull it off.

Big Brother then called the housemate that rumbled Logan in to the diary room, and then asked him why he thought what he did, before introducing both of the Twins to the diary room at the same time.

After a few minutes they entered the main house to compete against the other housemates, upon which there was a barrage of questions about who was who during their previous days in the house, and which housemate had experienced specific parts of the house-action.
