Just 2 days to go...

Just two days left now until the fifth series of Big Brother starts on Channel 4, and a further set of photographs showing various aspects of the new house have been revealed...

Previous internal views of the house have only shown the edges of the sofa, but the view above shows the full circular shaped sofa design - unlike previous Big Brother's it looks as though housemates won't be able to re-arrange this one by moving the shape of it, and no doubt many games will be played around the small table during the small hours of the warm summer nights.

It seems no one quite knows where the door shown in the photo above could lead to - it's not believed to be the diary room, as that's on the other side of the living area - and could either be the main entrance/exit door, or possibly leading to an "evil" side of the house, where the contestants may be made to work on tasks or be made to live on a "poor" side with the "secret garden" as shown in the Star's aerial photographs recently.

The full height mirror makes it look as if there's a passageway down to the side of that door, but it is infact just a reflection showing the rest of the living area. It's highly possible though of course, that these full-height mirrors might be hiding something else, such as a doorway, or might even be a door leading off to another part of the house - we'll only know for sure during the series.

Much has also been made of the hands which climb the wall in the kitchen area - maybe it's to signify the creepyness of the latest house design, or maybe to signify how housemates will be driven up the wall. Having said that they might just be yet another fancy if not pointless piece of artwork used by the designers with absoloutely sod all reasoning to them at all...

...and the bizarre features don't end inside the house as there's also a statue in the garden, which has been seen in the pre-Big Brother adverts on Channel 4 and clearly is going to be an on-going feature of the series... but what's so special about it? Post your thoughts of how the statue could come in to play during BB5 on the HoC Forum.

It'd appear that housemates will be able to gaze at the statue whilst sitting on the toilet (and also that means the statue is always watching them whilst they're taking a dump!) and the photo below shows what would appear to be the statue's view of the glass-walled loo which was revealed in the weekend papers.

The bathroom, shower and toilet are all linked together, and situated between the garden and the bedroom, which itself is seperate from the rest of the house - the first time for the British Big Brother. It's decked out in dark slate grey tiles and some very basic looking chrome features. From the reflection in the mirror it'd look as though the bathroom area looks straight in to the shower so there's not going to be any privacy for users of that either.

And finally, for now, the entrance/exit door. It'd appear that the steps leading up to the door as used in series 3 and 4 have been removed, and replaced by a ramp instead.
